The role of Operations Managers in the organization is the Head of the Operations of the Branch wherein they directly ensure the branch performs well in terms of achieving the business goals through timely production and delivery of jobs and projects with effective utilization of resources.They are responsible for the entire operational aspects they are entrusted with. They ensure the expenses are controlled to keep the financial health of the organization safe and secure. They keep the team competitive and innovative. They possess great understanding of the marketing, sales and internal operational strategies with extensive industry experience. They should be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures. A wide degree of creativity is expected.They lead the team by providing guidance, training & mentorship, setting goals, creating, analyzing data, and building the team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the activities of production workers.
- Implement policies and tactics for the smooth operations of the unit including timely implementation of policies and strategies designed by the top management.
- Lead Departmental Managers and Supervisors to meet the business and professional goals.
- Maintain and oversee the entire Operations Department on a daily basis to get the desired results and contribute to process improvements.
- Plan and manage production, delivery, procurement, storage and transportation processes with optimum utilization of resources by implementing cost controlling measures.
- Manage and supervise entire operations of the branch in terms of production, delivery, storage and transportation.
- Plan, assign and direct all jobs performed in the branch and coordinate related production from other branches.
- Ensure quality of products and services being rendered to the customers.Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities for the company.
- Develop, manage and supervise Cost Controlling strategies in the branch. Plan and manage the production and installations in the highest efficiency standards to meet profit margins targeted by the company.
- Ensure optimum utilization of resources by efficiently utilizing manpower and machineries. Minimize errors or wastages in terms of material, manpower, time or energy.
- Ensure quality production, storage, transportation and installations to avoid maintenance requirements costing additional resources. Strive to improve the Return on Investment (ROI).
- Share knowledge with the team and other branches on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs. Manage staff, foster a positive environment.
- Stay abreast of competing markets and implement changes required to adapt to the new market trends as per the management policies.
- Identify training needs for self and team, coordinate with HR for training and monitoring the effectiveness of training.
- Providing on the job coaching and directions, Objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of team, Measure and report performance appraisal.
- Present and consult with management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products with new channels.
- Maintain proper filing of important records in a professional way for easy access to requirements.
- Submitting reports in prescribed formats and Conducting regular review meetings.
- Any other task assigned by the Management.
QALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in using ERP Software.
