Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary: The Senior Oracle DBA will be responsible for managing high-availability database environments, disaster recovery setups, and ensuring uninterrupted operation of trading platforms. The role also involves performance optimization, automation initiatives, and supporting business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration (Core Role)
  • Manage and administer Oracle RAC (2-node or higher) environments
  • Maintain and monitor Oracle Data Guard (DR setups)
  • Handle Disaster Recovery (DR) site for trading databases
  • Perform backup, recovery, and database security management
  • Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Administer Oracle and SQLite databases
  • Application & APEX Management
  • Manage and support Oracle APEX environments
  • Develop and maintain applications using HTML, JavaScript
  • Handle APEX deployments, security, and troubleshooting

System Availability & Operations

  • Ensure 24/7 availability of trading systems (front-end terminals, back-office, APIs)
  • Lead incident management and root cause analysis
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and database migrations
  • Coordinate UAT, deployments, and vendor interactions
  • Support production systems with minimal downtime

Strategic & Technical Contributions

  • Develop and implement IT policies and governance frameworks
  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives
  • Utilize Python / scripting for automation
  • Contribute to AI/ML-based initiatives (preferred)
  • Support dashboards, reporting, and analytics

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC & Data Guard
  • Expertise in Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c/19c or above)
  • Experience with Linux (RHEL / Oracle Linux)
  • Knowledge of Oracle APEX
  • Familiarity with trading systems / capital markets (preferred)
  • Experience with backup tools, RMAN, and DR drills
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell scripting)
  • Understanding of IT governance and security best practices

Educational Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Certifications (Preferred / Advantage)

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Oracle Database Administrator
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)
  • Certification in Oracle RAC / Data Guard / Performance Tuning is a plus
