Title: Senior Piping Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE — KBR Office
Job Purpose
-
Define piping design bases, codes, standards, and deliverables to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Single point of contact for Piping deliverables and Activities.
-
Interface with client and other stakeholders for successful execution of the project
-
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (process, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation) and vendors to ensure integrated piping systems.

Mentor engineers, drive quality, and ensure schedule adherence for piping deliverables across project phases.
Key Responsibilities
-
Engineering design and engineer piping systems, supports, routing, isometrics, stress analysis, and related components.
-
Develop and review piping design basis, piping material specifications, datasheets, and technical bid evaluations.
-
Perform and supervise piping stress analyses, thermal expansion, pipe routing optimization, and vibration considerations.
-
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and project-specific requirements.
-
Review and approve technical deliverables (isometrics, P&IDs, BOMs, MOC/Change Notes, design change requests, technical queries).
-
Development of standard deliverables, various datasheets, and requisition packages related to piping.
-
Experience in Non-metallic Piping Stress Analysis and Procurement. Provide in-depth technical support for material selection involving metallic, GRE, and HDPE piping systems.

Participate in material selection and corrosion review sessions to ensure suitable materials for service conditions.

Understand the MOC process and employ effective change management throughout the lifecycle of the project

Contribute to Lesson Learnt from the Project

Report to Department Manager/ Lead Engineer for the project.
Experience
-
12+ years of experience in Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering and EPCM experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
-
Experience in Middle East clients like ADNOC, BP, BOC, PDO, Total Energies & Qatar Energies others are highly preferred.
-
Familiarity of Onshore and Offshore facilities and carried out Greenfield and Brownfield Projects.

Experience in working with multicultural project teams across the various project execution center’s
-
Familiarity with international piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASTM, API, and NACE MR0175/ISO 15156.
Qualifications
-
Master or Bachelor of Engineering in a related field.
-
Professional membership or relevant certifications (e.g., PE/Chartered Engineer) are a plus.
-
Certification related to piping design or stress analysis is advantageous.
Technical Skills
-
Strong background in piping design, engineering, stress analysis, and support design.
-
Proficiency with piping design software and calculation tools (e.g., CAESAR, AutoPIPE and 3D modeling tools).
-
Technical experience to prepare manhours estimation for different types of piping activities & deliverables of different phases of the project like Select phase, FEED & Execution etc.
-
Familiarity with codes, standards, regulations and practices applicable to the design and construction of Various facilities.
-
Hands on knowledge of codes and standards relevant to piping.
-
Experience with high-pressure piping, thermal insulation, coatings, and corrosion considerations.
-
Diverse working experience in project management, conceptual, FEED and detailed design, and construction.

Knowledge of Interdisciplinary Work Processes/Interface/Deliverables

Responsible for the training and development of engineers in his/her Team.

Adherence to company processes and procedures and handle internal and external project audits.
-
Proven experience in vendor qualification, technical bid evaluation, and factory audits.
