Company Overview:

We are a leading construction contracting company specializing in high-rise residential and mixed-use developments across the UAE. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the successful planning, monitoring, and execution of our ongoing and upcoming projects.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall project scheduling, progress monitoring, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery. Your tasks will include:

Project Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and update detailed baseline programs using Primavera P6 or similar tools.
  • Prepare WBS (Work Breakdown Structures), activity coding, and resource loading.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to obtain planning inputs.
  • Establish short-term lookahead schedules (weekly/monthly) in alignment with the baseline.
  • Integrate procurement, shop drawings, and material delivery schedules into the master program.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports with EVM (Earned Value Management) analysis.
  • Monitor project milestones, critical paths, and float.
  • Conduct delay analysis, identify bottlenecks, and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Compare actual progress with planned schedule, analyse variances, and update programs accordingly.

Claims & Variations Support:

  • Assist in EOT (Extension of Time) claims preparation with supporting documents and delay events analysis.
  • Collaborate with QS and Contracts teams on delay impact assessments and concurrent delays.
  • Maintain records of events affecting project progress for claim justifications.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Attend meetings with consultants, clients, and authorities to present project status and schedule updates.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and HSE departments for integrated planning.
  • Ensure alignment of subcontractor schedules with main program and project milestones.

Tools & Systems:

  • Strong knowledge and usage of Primavera P6, MS Project, and Power BI dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Aconex, ERP platforms, and standard reporting templates.
  • Maintain S-curves, manpower histograms, and productivity tracking sheets.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in planning for major construction projects (UAE experience preferred).
  • Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Excel (advanced level), and MS Project.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, construction sequences, and authority approvals.
  • Familiarity with Dubai regulations (Trakhees, Nakheel, DM, JAFZA, etc.) is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • PMP certification or PMI-SP is an added advantage.
