Senior Procurement Engineer - Electrical

🔹 Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Procurement Engineer - Electrical with a strong background in HV substations and power generation projects, specifically in the Gulf region. This role is to develop, monitor, and update project schedules and plans for construction or infrastructure projects, ensuring that project timelines are realistic and aligned with contractual requirements.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the procurement of electrical equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, MCCs, cables, lighting systems, etc.) for assigned projects.
• Evaluate technical specifications, prepare RFQs (Request for Quotation), and coordinate with engineering to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct bid evaluations (technical and commercial) in collaboration with engineering and project stakeholders.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, delivery timelines, and contractual terms.
• Ensure compliance with company and project standards, codes, and industry practices.
• Interface with suppliers and manufacturers to clarify technical queries and ensure equipment meets required specifications.
• Monitor procurement schedules and expedite orders to avoid project delays.
• Support vendor document review and approval process (datasheets, drawings, certifications).
• Maintain and update procurement logs, reports, and supplier performance evaluations.
• Mentor junior procurement engineers and support their technical development.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards in all procurement activities.

🔹 Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in electrical procurement engineering, preferably in EPC, Energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Experience in dealing with global suppliers and working in cross-functional project teams.
• Proficiency in procurement software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and MS Office tools.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
