Senior Procurement Officer

A reputable manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to manage the end-to-end procurement process of raw materials and operational supplies.

The role focuses on ensuring timely material availability, cost efficiency, compliance with internal policies, and effective coordination with suppliers and internal departments. This position requires strong operational procurement experience within a structured manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

  • Review and verify purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Source materials, obtain quotations, evaluate offers, and negotiate pricing.
  • Issue purchase orders in line with approved terms and policies.
  • Follow up on open orders to ensure timely and complete deliveries.
  • Maintain updated pricing and supplier records in the ERP system.

Planning & Coordination

  • Align purchasing activities with production plans to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Coordinate closely with Production Planning and Warehouse teams to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Track inbound shipments and coordinate delivery schedules.
  • Ensure proper documentation is provided for goods receipt processing.

Supplier Follow-Up & Issue Resolution

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Handle supplier claims, discrepancies, and delivery issues.
  • Follow up on non-conformance and change control matters in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Support continuous improvement in supplier performance and cost efficiency.

Compliance & Financial Coordination

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Finance for timely supplier payments and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records for audit and reporting purposes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of sourcing, supplier management, and procurement procedures.
  • Experience dealing with local and international suppliers is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement documentation processes.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain is a plus.
