Key roles and responsibilities:
✅ Design & Development
- Lead and monitor the architectural design process for medium to large-scale projects.
- Develop and review detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Integrate sustainable design principles and innovative materials/technologies.
- Follow up with authorities and support consultant to get the required approval for the project drawings.
✅ Project Coordination
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, MEP, interior, landscape).
- Review and resolve design conflicts and technical challenges.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
- Follow up with authorities and support consultant & contractor to get the required approval for the project.
- Supervise junior architects, draftsmen, and external design partners.
- lead and monitor the architectural works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
- Reviewing, and processing all architectural technical submittals.
- Answering RFIs related to architecture.
- Reviewing contractor’s architectural change order proposals and preparing recommendations to Architectural PM.
- Liaison and coordinate with the necessary sub consultants.
- Reviewing contractors’ claims related to architectural works and preparing recommendations for claims to Architectural PD.
- Reviewing the contractor’s project record documents relevant to their discipline.
- Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the architectural works.
- Signing off on completed architectural works with completed documentation.
- Prepare weekly planning and weekly report.
- Perform all other duties given by Architectural PD.
- Review Contractor's material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the PD on the appropriateness of the proposals.
✅ Technical Oversight
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Evaluate design proposals, drawings, and construction documents for accuracy and quality.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and monitor construction to ensure design intent is met.
- Assist in value engineering and cost control during design and construction phases.
✅ Management & Reporting
- Develop project schedules and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and participate in client meetings.
- Support tendering and contract documentation processes.
- Ensure quality assurance procedures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture (4-5 Yrs.).
- Minimum 12+ years (UAE) of relevant experience in architectural design and project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of authority’s regulation, building codes, standards, and construction methods.
- Familiar in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, SketchUp, etc.).
- Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Preferred (has PM certificate).
