Senior Project Associate, Immigration and Border Governance (IBG)

Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office in Saudi Arabia and the direct supervision of the Project Officer IBG; and in collaboration with relevant units in the mission, the Senior Project Associate IBG will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the IBG programmatic activities, including at the Arab Center for Technical Cooperation on Migration and Border Management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
  

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, an advantage if this includes Ministries of Interior, border management agencies, and migration authorities in Saudi Arabia or the MENA region.

• Experience with organizing regional/international events, such as workshops and symposia;

• Experience with organizing capacity building activities, such as trainings and study visits;

• Experience with drafting project documents, such as status reports, policy papers, SOPs, and briefing notes, for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization, or academic institutions in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  

Skills

• In depth knowledge of migration and border management in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including national authorities, policies and frameworks.

• Knowledge of project management, including monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.

• Strong analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to compile, summarize, and present complex data on migration trends, border security, and project outcomes.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners.

• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability, with experience working in diverse, multicultural environments, particularly in the Arab region.

• Problem-solving and critical thinking, with the ability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and support decision-making in complex project settings.

Languages
