Senior Quantity Surveyor - Estimation

The Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Estimation function will lead the preparation of accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that Trojan Construction Group remains competitive while maintaining profitability. This role involves close collaboration with the Estimation, Design, and Project teams, contributing to bid strategies, risk analysis, and value engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the estimation process for medium to large-scale construction projects.
  • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost plans, and material take-offs based on project drawings and specifications.
  • Analyze tender documents, technical drawings, and project scopes to develop accurate cost projections.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or project timelines.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement value engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and evaluate pricing.
  • Review and validate estimates prepared by junior QS team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
  • Support commercial management in bid submissions, clarifications, and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain and update estimation databases, historical cost data, and project cost libraries.
  • Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors in estimation practices and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in quantity surveying with at least 5 years in estimation for large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven experience in preparing BOQs, cost plans, and tender estimates.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE construction market, materials, and rates.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CostX, PriMus, or equivalent) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
