Senior Safety Officer

Contract Role: Senior Safety Officer

A Senior Safety Officer is required to oversee and manage Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) activities across all phases of a major oil and gas project. The role involves developing and implementing HSE plans, conducting safety studies, ensuring contractor compliance, and providing technical guidance to project teams. The candidate will act as a focal point for HSE coordination, incident investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development and implementation of HSE systems and deliverables.
• Review and approve contractor safety plans and emergency response procedures.
• Facilitate safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, etc.) and ensure alignment with project standards.
• Advise project leadership on safety performance and risk mitigation.
• Oversee incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain HSE risk registers and statistical reporting databases.
• Promote safety culture and lead contractor workforce safety initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Safety discipline.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in HSEQ/loss prevention in oil & gas projects.
• Strong background in safety studies, risk assessments, and emergency response planning.
• Familiarity with hazard identification and consequence modelling software (e.g., PHAPro, PHAST).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Contract Details:

• Start Date: Q3/Q4 2025
• Duration: 24 months
• Location: Onshore sites in Doha & Ras Laffan
• Working Days: 5 days/week
