Senior Legal Officer

Doha, Qatar

The Senior Legal Officer provides legal consultation and solutions to Sharaka and its subsidiaries, ensuring all legal matters are addressed in alignment with business objectives. The role involves reviewing and drafting contracts, preparing legal defenses and claims, advising management on rights and obligations, and negotiating to safeguard the company’s best interests. Responsibilities also include preparing board and general assembly meeting minutes, developing a legal document management system, and assuming the duties of the Group Legal Manager in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Provides legal consultation and/or solutions to the legal concerns and problems of Sharaka and its subsidiaries.
  • Reviews various contracts, such as but not limited to lease contracts, supplier contracts, and franchise contracts, and makes necessary recommendations and revisions to make sure that each provision is aligned to the business goals and protects the best interests of the company.
  • Acts as a house lawyer and drafts a statement of defense and/or claims
  • Prepares the minutes of the meetings for the board meeting and general assembly meeting.
  • Negotiates the company’s rights and obligations and advises the company and its management on their duties, obligations, and liabilities under relevant laws and regulatory contracts.
  • Assumes the responsibility of the group legal manager in his absence.
  • Initiates the development of a legal document management system.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder in law with a license.
  • With experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate buyouts, and setting up companies.
  • Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols
  • With at least 5 years of experience in GCC countries
  • Accepting candidates locally and internationally.
