Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end sea freight import and export operations for FCL and LCL, ensuring smooth coordination from booking to final delivery.
- Monitor shipment milestones, vessel schedules, and ensure timely execution of all operational tasks.
- Handle carrier bookings, follow up on schedules, transit times, and freight validity.
- Ensure accuracy of documentation including BL drafts, SI, MBL/HBL, invoices, packing lists, COO, and other required documents.
- Ensure compliance with customs rules, DG shipping requirements, port regulations, and company SOPs.
- Coordinate with CHA teams for BE/BOE filing, documentation approvals, and D/O release.
- Communicate with customers regularly, provide shipment updates, resolve service issues, and maintain high service standards.
- Liaise with shipping lines, NVOCCs, transporters, warehouses, CFS, and CHAs for seamless operations.
- Negotiate with carriers and vendors for competitive freight rates, free time, and operational support.
- Prepare and verify job costing, vendor bills, customer invoices, and ensure correct margins.
- Monitor operational expenses and work towards improving cost efficiency and profitability.
- Handle escalations related to delays, port/CFS issues, detention/demurrage, or documentation errors.
- Take corrective actions and recommend improvements in SOPs where necessary.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of experience in sea freight operations within a freight forwarding company.
- Strong understanding of carrier processes, port operations, customs regulations, and international shipping practices.
- Excellent knowledge of Incoterms, BL procedures, FCL/LCL operations, and end-to-end sea freight workflow.
- Strong communication, customer handling, and negotiation skills.
