Job Summary

As a Senior Solar Systems Sales Engineer, you will bridge the gap between technical expertise and customer needs, driving revenue growth by advising clients on SolarSol World’s products. You’ll collaborate with engineering, marketing, and executive teams to design customized solar solutions, close high-value deals, and build long-term client relationships in key markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Sales Leadership:
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for SolarSol’s PV systems, inverters, storage solutions, and software.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, feasibility studies, and ROI analyses for clients (utilities, EPCs, developers).
  • Develop customized solar system proposals aligned with client energy goals and site constraints.
  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in target markets (e.g., C&I, utility-scale, international).
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and post-sale support.
  • Represent SolarSol at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work with engineering teams to translate technical specs into customer benefits.
  • Provide feedback to R&D on market trends and product improvements.
  • Mentor junior sales engineers and support team KPIs.
  • Customer Success:
  • Build trust with clients by addressing technical queries (e.g., system design, permitting, grid compliance).
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth handoff from sale to installation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy) or related field. MBA a plus.
  • Experience: 3+ years in solar sales engineering, with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding quotas.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of PV system design, energy storage, and solar financing models.
  • Familiarity with CAD/PVSyst, NEC/IEC standards, and utility interconnection processes.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel 30–50% (regionally/nationally).
