What will you do in this role

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning
  • Analyze and understand functional and non-functional requirements, technical design specifications, and data models for systems under test (applications, APIs, and data pipelines).
  • Design comprehensive test strategies, including test plans and test suites covering functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and data validation testing.
  • Define testing parameters in collaboration with product teams, developers, data engineers, and other project stakeholders.
Test Design & Execution
  • Design and implement test cases, test scripts, and test data for both manual and automated testing, mapping tests back to clear acceptance criteria and requirements.
  • Create automated test scripts to cover UI, API, backend services, and data validation tests, leveraging appropriate frameworks and tools (e.g., Tosca, Robot Framework, Selenium, LoadRunner).
  • Execute test suites, document results, identify defects, and track them through to resolution.
  • Create detailed, step-by-step documentation of test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
Automation & Tools
  • Align with automation best practices and standards, including coding standards, test design techniques, and modularized test case development.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize automated regression suites as part of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., via QE Test Hub and GitHub Actions).
  • Use test management tools (e.g., Xray Test Management with Vera DevOps) to plan, track, and report on testing activities and coverage.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the test automation framework, tooling, and test processes.
Data Validation, Data Quality & Integrity
  • Collaborate with data engineers and product teams to understand data flows, data models, and business rules.
  • Design and execute tests to validate data quality, data completeness, and data integrity across ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and downstream systems.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to validate datasets, transformations, aggregations, and reports.
  • Identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and work with engineering teams to define and validate fixes.
