JOB PURPOSE

Formulate and implement all HSE related policies, procedures, systems for DP World Jeddah.

Monitor health, safety & environment, assess risk, and design strategies to reduce potential hazards within DP World Jeddah
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
-
Lead and oversee the implementation of safety and discipline measures across all operational areas under responsibility.
-
Ensure proactive identification and mitigation of risks associated with container terminal operations through strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
-
Supervise and guide supervisors and safety personnel to ensure full compliance with Port Authority regulations and DP World HSE standards.
-
Review, endorse, and monitor the effectiveness of induction and training programs to ensure consistent competency and awareness among all staff, contractors, and visitors.
-
Plan and oversee periodic refresher training and safety awareness campaigns to sustain a strong safety culture across all shifts.
-
Manage the execution of emergency response drills, ensuring alignment with company requirements and readiness across teams.
-
Ensure that all GHSE mandatory activities and inspections (including vessel inspections and assessment programs) are conducted effectively and documented properly.
-
Take the lead in critical incident response and provide direction to on-site teams to ensure immediate containment and effective communication.

Oversee and validate the quality and effectiveness of incident investigations conducted by supervisors, ensuring root causes and corrective actions are accurately identified and tracked to closure.

Conduct regular audits and comprehensive inspections to evaluate compliance levels and drive continuous improvement actions.

Review and approve risk assessments and SOPs prepared by the team, ensuring all operational risks are adequately controlled and documented.

Monitor high-risk activities across multiple operational zones, escalating key concerns and ensuring corrective and preventive measures are implemented promptly.

Lead the implementation, review, and enhancement of the Safety and Environmental Management System in coordination with the HSE Manager.

Analyze and compile safety performance data and reports for management review, highlighting trends, challenges, and recommended actions.
-
Act as the primary HSE representative during major emergencies, ensuring coordinated response, communication, and reporting.
-
Supervise the application and compliance of the Work Permit system, validating high-risk permits and ensuring adherence to GHSE requirements before, during, and after task completion.

Lead and coordinate shift operations for Safety Supervisors when required, ensuring continuity of safety oversight and effective communication between teams.
-
Mentor and support team members in developing technical and leadership capabilities, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
-
Experience in safety function in heavy engineering, energy, utilities related industry
-
Preferable: 5 to 9 years
-
Experience in managerial role

Mandatory: 2 to 4 years
-
Experience in port industry is Must.

Graduate/ bachelor’s degree in engineering, health, and safety and or equivalent with safety certification such as NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Diploma in OHSP, NEBOSH IGC, Lead Auditor 45001, 14001, 9001

Preferable: Advanced study in occupational health, safety, and environment management
