Role Purpose

Drive professional development and support quality English teaching through engaging teacher programmes. Create rewarding learning experiences while contributing to the British Council’s mission of building cultural connections through education.

Main Accountabilities:

Teacher Support
You’ll provide effective line management and personal support to teaching staff, ensuring high standards through regular observations and performance reviews. You’ll also play a key role in onboarding new teachers, setting up mentoring programmes, and acting as a duty officer to support teachers, students, and parents.

Professional Development
You’ll help shape and deliver a CPD programme aligned with regional goals, identifying learning opportunities and sharing best practices. As a role model, you’ll lead development sessions, stay up to date with ELT trends, and represent the British Council at relevant events, promoting innovation and excellence in teaching.

Product Delivery & Inclusion
You’ll ensure teaching frameworks and policies are understood and applied across teams, supporting communication and collaboration. You’ll contribute to product development, pilot new courses, and embed safeguarding, EDI, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities “SEND” practices to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essentials:

• Extensive knowledge and experience of management and delivery of teacher training.
• Experience of line managing/ coordinating teaching teams.
• Experience in teaching relevant age groups:

• Lower Secondary aged 11 to 14 (800+ hours).

• Upper Secondary aged 15 to 17 (400+ hours).

• University/Vocational students aged 18 to 25 (400+hours).

• Adults General English 18+ (800+ hours).

• Full Mastery of English across 4 skills, equivalent to CEFR C2 (IELTS Academic Paper Band 8/9 in each of the 4 sections).
• Undergraduate Degree.
• Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL, and Cambridge DELTA or Trinity Diploma TESOL, or equivalent as recognised by the British Council.
• Relevant Young Learner qualification.

Desirables:

• Relevant masters/post graduate qualification
• Early Years aged 2 to 5 (400+hours).
Primary aged 6 to 10 (400+ hours).

• Relocation support is provided for candidates who are not currently residing in the job location.

• Gross monthly salary: 27,600 EGP

Benefits for non-Egyptian candidates who are relocating to the job location:

1- Sterling supplement: 420 GBP per month

2- Settling in allowance and flight ticket + 2 weeks hotel accommodation when they arrive.

3- Housing allowance:

• Unaccompanied: 8000 EGP per month

• Accompanied (one dependent): 9000 EGP per month

• Accompanied (two or more dependents): 10000 EGP per month
