We are seeking an experienced Senior UK Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting services for UK-based clients. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in A-to-Z bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and UK taxation, with hands-on experience using Xero. This role requires independent client handling, technical accuracy, and the ability to work effectively under deadlines in a full-time onsite environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complete A-to-Z bookkeeping for UK clients using Xero.
- Handle daily accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP / FRS 102.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities accurately and on time.
- Conduct and review bank, balance sheet, and control account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring compliance with UK VAT regulations.
- Support corporation tax computations and coordination with tax filings.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Develop and present management reports and KPI analysis.
- Review and approve journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate directly with clients to address accounting queries and provide financial insights.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work for quality and compliance.
- Research and resolve complex accounting and bookkeeping issues.
- Manage multiple clients and deadlines while working under pressure.
Requirements:
- ACCA Qualified / Affiliate / Part-Qualified (minimum 9 papers cleared) OR Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 4 years of experience providing accounting services to UK clients.
- Strong hands-on experience with Xero (mandatory).
- Solid understanding of UK GAAP / FRS 102, VAT, and UK corporation tax basics.
- Proven experience in financial statement preparation and accounts finalization.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
