WHO WE ARE
The team at SLS Consulting specializes in digital marketing for attorneys nationwide. From website design and SEO to content creation and social media marketing, we oversee all aspects of our clients' Web presence. We are currently looking for an SEO Strategist, ideally with experience working in-house, as a contributing member of the SEO team. We are a fully remote company; however, we are looking for applicants in the Los Angeles County area for ease of team building and time management.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Our firm is seeking an expert in Search Engine Optimization that can craft comprehensive, effective, and multi-faceted contract-length plans for all of our clients. The ideal candidate for this position has a love of all things SEO and impeccable organizational skills. This position will work closely with the management team to collaborate on effective strategies for each account and relay this information to the client. Focusing the clients on KPI, year-to-year retainment, big-picture strategy, and implementing the company's white-hat SEO policies will be a priority. Candidates must also be prepared to adapt to a rapidly changing search environment, including the rise of AI-driven search engines and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude, who is able and willing to juggle multiple responsibilities and flexibly shift priorities as needed. We want someone with an eye for detail who is able to follow directions but is equally capable of performing self-directed work. The candidate should understand traditional SEO and also recognize how platforms like Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and other AI tools are reshaping visibility and traffic. The right candidate will bring ideas for optimizing across both search engines and AI-driven engines.

If you are a self-starter who loves the process of SEO, who likes to stay up to date on the latest trends – particularly Google updates – and is dedicated to following white-hat practices, this may be the position for you. Whether you have previously enjoyed working with attorney websites or are interested in applying your SEO knowledge to lawyer marketing for the first time, we want someone who is excited to be a part of our team. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes SEO and loves taking deep dives into websites and figuring out ways to make them even better. For many of our long-term client websites at this point, the name of the game is better, not bigger.

We are a small company, so being a team player is a must. We are fully remote, so a friendly and open communication style is required to keep things running smoothly. At SLS, you will be a member of a team. You will be expected to not only carry out instructions, but also to contribute your own thoughts and ideas.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

• Develop and execute comprehensive, winning SEO campaigns, including monthly content plans and suggestions for paid ad campaigns
• Develop website audits and proposals for prospective clients
• Review websites to assess performance and ensure they are following Google best practices;
• Discuss SEO strategy and execution with SEO and Design teams
• Meet with CEO and Department Heads regarding new, ongoing, and outstanding projects and concerns

· Provide direction to SEO team on day-to-day SEO tactical execution across multiple clients

· Review Google analytics and search console, website history, and ranking reports for any issues to address

· Analyze competitor websites and suggest strategy changes based on findings;

· Strategize ways to improve and track site performance

· Provide action items to SEO team, in evaluating content to maximize SEO opportunities

· Evaluate site internal/external linking and adjust according to white hat principles

· Develop strategies for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to ensure visibility in AI-driven search results

· Research and recommend AI tools and platforms to support SEO, content optimization, and performance tracking

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• At least 3 year(s) of hands-on SEO experience
• 2+ years of experience working in an environment with limited supervision/direction
• Strong reading comprehension and excellent writing skills
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Client interpersonal skills
• Works well in a team environment
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
• Knowledge of Internet browsers, WordPress, Dreamweaver (or similar website editing software); FTP Internet software; HTML; CSS; Google Analytics; Google Business Profiles; Google Search Console; Majestic; Moz; Ahrefs; and standard Microsoft Office Suite software
• Must have a working knowledge of a PC
• Firm grasp of industry best practices
• Familiarity with AI-driven search tools and understanding of how AI platforms are changing SEO

Preferred:

• Experience working with attorney marketing
• Strong writing experience

This position is full-time; however, our company does observe an alternative work week: 76 hours/pay-period, with extended working hours and every other Friday off. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
