Find The RightJob.

We’re hiring people who genuinely care.

Hot Pie Pizza is more than a typical pizza takeout restaurant. We are a full-service neighborhood restaurant built around an 80-year family dough recipe, authentic New York pizza, quality food, and welcoming hospitality.

We are looking for an experienced Bartender/Server who understands that great hospitality is more than taking orders. It means reading the table, anticipating guests’ needs, communicating clearly, supporting the team, and creating an experience that makes people want to return.

Restaurant work can be fast-paced, physically demanding, and unpredictable. This position is not always easy, but the right person will join a team committed to improving, maintaining high service standards, and building something great together.

What You’ll Do

As a Bartender/Server, you will:

  • Welcome guests warmly and create a comfortable dining experience.
  • Provide attentive, knowledgeable, and professional table and bar service.
  • Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Learn the food and beverage menus and confidently make recommendations.
  • Accurately enter orders and responsibly process payments.
  • Monitor your section and anticipate guests’ needs throughout their visit.
  • Run your own food promptly and confirm that each order is accurate before presenting it to the guest.
  • Bus, clean, and reset your own tables.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready bar and dining section.
  • Complete opening, closing, and assigned side-work responsibilities.
  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen, management, and other team members.
  • Support teammates during busy periods instead of focusing only on your own section.
  • Follow restaurant service standards and responsible alcohol-service procedures.
  • Receive coaching professionally and apply feedback during future shifts.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Genuine warmth and a welcoming personality.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Integrity and personal accountability.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • A positive attitude during busy or stressful shifts.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
  • Humility and coachability.
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • The ability to remain calm, organized, and professional.
  • An understanding of the difference between simply taking orders and creating hospitality.

Previous serving and bartending experience is strongly preferred. However, we believe in hiring people, not just résumés. We are especially interested in someone with the right attitude, character, reliability, and work ethic to make a positive contribution to our restaurant.

Schedule Expectations

Candidates should be available to work:

  • A minimum of three shifts per week.
  • Evening and weekend shifts.
  • Holidays and special events based on restaurant needs.
  • Both serving and bartending shifts when scheduled.

Please apply only if you can consistently meet the scheduling requirements.

Training and Development

New team members will complete structured training covering:

  • Table numbers and the restaurant layout.
  • Food menu knowledge and restaurant specialties.
  • Spirits, wine, beer, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Hot Pie’s service standards and guest communication.
  • Bartending procedures and responsible alcohol service.
  • Opening, closing, and assigned side-work responsibilities.
  • Running food, bussing tables, and maintaining a clean section.
  • Independent serving and bartending readiness.

At Hot Pie, Bartender/Servers are responsible for running their own food and bussing, cleaning, and resetting their own tables. We do not have separate food runners or bussers, which means there is no required tip-out to those support positions.

This is a hands-on position. Each team member is expected to take ownership of the entire guest experience—from greeting the table and entering the order to delivering the food, maintaining the table, and preparing it for the next guest.

Training may include supervised shifts, food and beverage knowledge tests, feedback from trainers and managers, and a gradual transition to independently managing your own tables and bar guests.

We believe feedback should always include clear direction. Our goal is not only to explain what needs improvement, but also to help each team member understand how to perform better during the next shift.

The first 30 days are an important part of the hiring and training process. During this period, we will evaluate reliability, attitude, teamwork, menu knowledge, guest service, coachability, cleanliness, and consistency.

Compensation

$10.98 plus tips

Bartender/Servers run their own food and bus and reset their own tables. There is no required tip-out to food runners or bussers.

Compensation will be based on experience, availability, and assigned responsibilities.
