Duties
- Greet guests warmly and take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Prepare and serve food items, ensuring quality standards and food safety regulations are followed at all times.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales by recommending popular dishes or specials.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food prep stations, dining spaces, and service stations in compliance with health standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy hours.
- Buss tables promptly after guests leave, resetting tables for new customers while ensuring a clean dining environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving issues quickly, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Support team members in various restaurant operations such as food handling, serving, and food safety practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurants is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn!
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus; training will be provided if needed.
- Experience in the food industry or restaurant environment helps develop skills in serving, upselling, and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong time management skills to handle fast-paced shifts while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math understanding for sales upselling opportunities, and quick math for daily transactions are important.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a lively café or retail setting while maintaining a positive attitude.
