Server/Waiter

Overview
We are seeking a responsible and organized Host/Server to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a seamless dining experience. This is a hybrid server position where hosting experience is necessary. We are a small sized Izakaya restaurant that utilizes a floor staff that can both host and serve. You will manage reservations, greet guests, and maintain the flow of service in our establishment. Your ability to provide exceptional guest relations will be key to enhancing our customers' experiences and an influx of customers on a nightly basis. Basic serving responsibilities such as menu memorization, guest hospitality, food-running, and bussing will be utilized.

Duties

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Manage reservations using Resy to optimize seating arrangements.
• Escort guests to their tables while providing menus and explaining daily specials.
• Maintain an organized waitlist during busy periods and communicate wait times effectively.
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism, striving for guest satisfaction.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety standards.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and dining area.
• Serve guests with detailed knowledge of the menu
• Food run with efficient timing
• Assemble mocktails and handmade beverages
• Bussing and setting tables

Qualifications

• One year experience in both host and serving
• Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations is essential
• Prior experience with the reservation system Resy preffered
• Strong communication skills with a focus on guest relations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Willing to learn new roles and positions to construct strong teamwork
• Ability to independently serve
• Available to work 2-3 days weekly (2 days guaranteed)
