About the Role
Service Engineers for Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems are highly specialized professionals responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of various ELV systems. These systems, which include gate automation, fire alarm systems, fire fighting systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, and security systems, require engineers who have both technical expertise and relevant experience in these areas.
Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning:

Hands-on experience with the installation and setup of different ELV systems, ensuring proper wiring, programming, and calibration.

Commissioning of systems to ensure they operate as designed, including testing their functionality and performance.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Routine inspection and maintenance of systems to ensure longevity and optimal performance.

Troubleshooting skills for identifying issues with system components like control panels, sensors, alarms, cameras, and access devices.

Knowledge of Standards & Codes:

Familiarity with local and international standards and codes related to ELV systems, such as fire safety codes (NFPA, BS), security system standards (e.g., IEC), and other relevant regulations.

Hands-on Experience with Specific ELV Systems:

Gate Automation: Understanding the mechanics, electrical components, and safety features of automated gates.

Fire Alarm Systems: Installation and maintenance of smoke detectors, control panels, and alarm systems.

Fire Fighting Systems: Familiarity with the integration of fire alarms with fire suppression systems such as sprinklers and gas-based systems.

CCTV Systems: Installation of cameras, NVR/DVR setup, cabling, and network integration, as well as troubleshooting video signal issues.

Access Control Systems: Knowledge of card readers, biometric devices, and electronic locking mechanisms.

Security Systems: Integrating various security devices like motion detectors, alarms, and remote monitoring systems.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

Engineers should have a methodical approach to diagnosing faults and ensuring that systems remain functional after repairs.

Customer Service Skills:

As service engineers often interact with clients, they should possess good communication skills and customer service expertise to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.

Qualifications
