Shipping Operations Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Operations Manager to oversee our shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management and logistics, with a focus on process improvement and team management. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes while maintaining high standards of inventory control and safety.

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Shipping Operations Manager to oversee and manage our air, land, and sea freight operations. This role requires someone who not only has solid experience in logistics but also holds the necessary licensing to assist in obtaining and maintaining all required permits and registrations for our shipping activities.

Duties

• Supervise daily shipping operations, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
• Manage inventory control processes to optimize stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
• Oversee the use of warehouse management systems to track inventory and shipments.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in shipping and receiving activities.
• Train, mentor, and manage warehouse staff to foster a productive team environment.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards within the warehouse.
• Coordinate with logistics partners to facilitate smooth transportation of goods.
• Handle materials handling tasks, including heavy lifting as required.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate records of shipping activities using AS400 or similar systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse management or as a warehouse supervisor.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and logistics operations.
• Familiarity with e-commerce shipping processes is a plus.
• Experience with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations preferred.
• Proficient in the use of warehouse management systems and tools.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
• Strong understanding of shipping & receiving protocols and best practices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary for materials handling tasks.
