Shop Supervisor

1. Job Purpose : To provide high-level strategic oversight and operational leadership for the grocery shop branch. The Branch Supervisor is responsible for driving overall business performance, ensuring profitability, maintaining exceptional operational standards, and fostering a motivated, compliant workforce while directly managing the General Manager (GM) and Store Manager.

• Financial Performance: Achieving or exceeding set revenue, profit margin, and cost-control targets for the branch.
• Operational Excellence: Consistent full compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and local licensing requirements.
• Brand Integrity & Customer Loyalty: Maintaining a superior shop reputation, leading to high rates of customer retention and positive feedback.
• Leadership Effectiveness: Achieving high levels of staff productivity, morale, and retention through effective management of the GM and Store Manager.

2. Primary Duties Performed

• Set the strategic goals and annual budget for the branch in collaboration with shop ownership/board.
• Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports to identify trends and adjust strategies.
• Directly supervise, coach, and evaluate the performance of the General Manager and Store Manager.
• Conduct regular, thorough branch audits to ensure compliance with company standards for visual merchandising, hygiene, and service.
• Approve major expenditure requests and capital investments within established authority limits.
• Formulate and update branch policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and security.
• Act as the final point of escalation for complex employee relations issues or significant customer complaints.
• Coordinate with HR regarding executive-level hiring, disciplinary actions, and leadership development within the branch.
• Represent the branch in meetings with local authorities, major stakeholders, and landlords.
