Sign Graphic Designer

FASTSIGNS of South Tampa is hiring a Sign Designer who understands how signage is actually built, not just designed.

This role involves preparing production-ready artwork for vinyl, large format printing, and dimensional signage using Adobe Illustrator. Some projects will also require creating artwork from scratch, including signage layouts or simple logos.

Note: This is not a traditional graphic design role (branding, social media, etc.). Experience with sign design or large-format graphics is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

• Create production-ready artwork using Adobe Illustrator
• Prepare files for vinyl cutting, large format printing, and dimensional signage
• Occasionally design signage layouts or graphics from scratch when files are not provided
• Create renderings and proofs for larger signage such as monument signs, pylons, and pan faces
• Build accurate design proofs outlining sign components and specifications
• Assist with permit drawing packages when needed
• Design graphics for vehicles, windows, walls, buildings, and various substrates
• Carefully review and double-check artwork before it goes to production
• Occasionally assist the team with weeding, masking, mounting, or assembling sign materials when needed

Schedule:

Monday – Friday
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Includes 30-minute unpaid lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks

Pay:

$20 – $21 per hour (based on experience)

Trial Period:

This position begins with a 3-month trial period to ensure it is a good fit for both the candidate and our team.

At the end of the trial period, we will review performance and, if everything is going well, transition the role into a long-term full-time position with the benefits listed below.

Requirements

• Experience with Adobe Illustrator
• Understanding of vector artwork and file setup for production
• Ability to design for large format graphics and signage applications

Preferred

• Sign industry experience
• Large format printing or vinyl production knowledge
• Adobe Creative Suite experience

Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, double-checks their work, and takes pride in accuracy before files go to production.

Portfolio or examples of previous sign / large-format design work may be requested.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
