About the role:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
A Site Coordinator oversees an after school program at a single elementary school (TK-8th grade) intended to encourage a culture of learning by providing students with the knowledge, skills, and resources for academic and personal success. Programming may occur inside or outside of the classroom during the school day, after school, on weekends, or during the summer. Activities may include tutoring, personal enrichment, life skills, recreation, and other activities that facilitate success.
A Site Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of programming including the supervision of Youth Leaders who work directly with students. Under supervision from a Program Quality Supervisor, a Site Coordinator trains and evaluates staff, and works closely with school administration, faculty, parents, and students to ensure that programming meets the needs of the school and its students, as well as the policies of the California and/or Federal Department of Education.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree, or, four years of experience working with youth in an educational setting. Education and experience can combine for the 4 years (i.e. AA and 2 years of experience). A Bachelor's degree, experience supervising staff, and prior history of successful implementation of youth programs is highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
LANGUAGE & COMPUTER SKILLS
Strong writing skills. Competence and comfort with computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and web-based communication tools, such as e-mail and Internet. Ability to speak Spanish is desired.
PHYSICAL SKILLS
Requires the visual acuity to observe the activity of children and others. Must be able to lift and carry small loads (up to 25 lbs.) and stand for prolonged hours.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must complete Live Scan Department of Justice and FBI Criminal Background Check and obtain health clearance (TB Test).
Condition of Employment & Benefits:
This position oversees an after school program on an elementary school campus. This position requires the candidate to be available for work during program hours, generally Monday – Friday (10:00 – 6:00 PM) and some Saturdays, 40 hours per week.
This is a regular full-time, benefitted, non-exempt (hourly) position. The current, standard organization’s retirement plan and health, life, vision, and dental insurance coverage are supplied per organization policy to individuals in eligible benefited positions. You will be eligible for health, life, vision, dental coverage after 90 days of continuous employment within this position and retirement benefits after working 1,000 hours in a single calendar year. Employee contribution to payment for benefit plans is determined annually. Currently, LEARN contributes 85% to benefits premiums for the employee and their dependents.
