JOB DESCRIPTION – SITE ELECTRICIAN (GENERAL)

Location: Various Project Sites – Karachi

Reporting To: Electrical Site Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-Time / Project-Based

Experience Required: 1 – 3 Years

Role Summary

We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious Site Electricians to support our Electrical Site Supervisor in the execution of electrical installations across active MEP and construction project sites in Karachi. The successful candidate will carry out hands-on electrical work in accordance with approved drawings, site instructions, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

■ Install, connect, and test electrical wiring, conduit systems, distribution boards, and fixtures as per approved drawings and supervisor instructions.

■ Read and follow basic electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and schematic drawings under the guidance of the Supervisor.

■ Perform cable pulling, terminations, conduit bending, and tray/trunking installations neatly and to specification.

■ Carry out electrical testing including continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity checks using standard instruments.

■ Assist in the installation of switchgear, panels, earthing/grounding systems, and associated equipment.

■ Follow all site safety protocols, permit-to-work procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.

■ Maintain cleanliness and organisation at the worksite; properly store tools and materials.

■ Report any site defects, material shortages, or safety hazards immediately to the Supervisor.

■ Actively participate in on-site training and toolbox talks conducted by the Supervisor.

Required Skills & Competencies

■ Hands-on proficiency in general electrical installation work (LV systems, lighting, power, earthing).

■ Ability to follow electrical drawings and layouts with reasonable accuracy.

■ Familiarity with electrical testing equipment (multimeter, insulation tester, clamp meter).

■ Basic understanding of electrical safety principles and site regulations.

■ Physical fitness and willingness to work at heights, in confined spaces, or outdoors as required.

■ Team-oriented with a disciplined and professional attitude.

Qualifications

■ Education: Matric / DAE (Electrical) preferred; trade certificate or equivalent practical training acceptable.

■ Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of site experience in electrical contracting or MEP projects.

■ Relevant trade certificate or apprenticeship completion is an advantage.
