Skyhawks Enrichment Program Instructor (Nature, Wellness & Enrichment)

Job Summary
Skyhawks Sports Academy is actively hiring Enrichment Program Instructors for our Skyhawks Enrichment Programs in the Ventura County area, fcussing at the moment on Ojai. May later develop to include Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Calabasas, Oak Park and surrounding communities.

This job is perfect for candidates with girlscout or boyscout experience. 4H etc.

This is a part-time position working with elementary school students (ages 5–7) in afterschool enrichment programs focused on gardening, nature exploration, mindfulness, team building, and life skills development.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging outdoor activities focused on nature exploration, wellness practices, and enrichment projects tailored to children’s age groups
• Create a safe, inclusive, structured and fun environment that encourages curiosity and participation
• Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques
• Implement and provide creative input to lesson plans that incorporate childhood development principles, outdoor education, and wellness strategies
• Ensure all activities adhere to safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate camp schedules, special events, and themed programs
• Maintain clear communication with program coordinators regarding program activities and children’s progress

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments will be very helpful
• Strong knowledge of and / or experience in childhood development, early childhood education, and behavior management techniques
• Certification in first aid and CPR and a few other essential certficiations (or willingness to obtain upon hiring - no out of pocket costs for the candidates)
• Skills in classroom management, special education support, or teaching are highly desirable
• Ability to lead physical activities such as sports coaching or theater-based programs with enthusiasm and safety awareness
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, parents, and team members
• Passion for outdoor education, wellness initiatives, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
