SME Underwriting Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

As the SME Medical Underwriting Manager , you will be responsible for managing the financial performance, pricing strategy, and profitability of our SME medical insurance portfolio. You’ll ensure compliance with local regulations, provide market insights, and collaborate across teams to deliver competitive and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute annual pricing strategies and renewal plans for the SME medical portfolio.
• Conduct detailed portfolio profitability analysis (Loss Ratio, Claims Incidence, Cost per Claim).
• Lead pricing inputs for annual budgets and forecasts.
• Build and validate data-driven pricing models incorporating market and medical trends.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Council for Health Insurance (CHI) regulations and maintain complete documentation.
• Partner with Sales, Product Development, and Finance teams to support growth and financial accuracy.
• Mentor and guide junior underwriters and pricing analysts.
• Monitor competitor activity and provide strategic recommendations to enhance profitability and competitiveness.

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years overall experience, including 2–5 years in SME or Medical Insurance Pricing/Underwriting.
• Professional certification in Insurance or Health Insurance is required.
• Actuarial experience or qualification is highly preferred.
