Social Media and Marketing Coordinator

Ember Coffee Company is a Minnesota-based, women-owned specialty coffee roastery. We roast organic, mold-free coffee using a clean air-roasting process — and we believe the story behind the cup matters as much as the cup itself. Our brand is built on authenticity, community, and doing things the right way. No shortcuts. No fluff.

We're looking for a Content Creator & Social Media Manager who can bring that story to life — every single day.

What You'll Do

This is a hands-on, full-throttle content role. You'll own the visual identity of Ember across all channels. That means:

  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality photos and short-form video (product shots, behind-the-scenes, roasting process, community moments, events)
  • Create, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms — maintaining a consistent posting cadence
  • Develop and recommend content strategy — what to post, when to post it, and why it matters. Bring ideas, not just execution.
  • Engage with our online community daily — respond to comments, DMs, and mentions with warmth and authenticity. Build real relationships, not vanity metrics.
  • Monitor performance metrics and turn data into action. Know what's working, double down, and pivot when something isn't.
  • Collaborate with leadership on brand campaigns, product launches, fundraising partnerships, and seasonal promotions
  • Stay current on social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices — and proactively apply what you learn
  • Maintain and organize a content library of photos, videos, graphics, and brand assets
  • Support email marketing and other digital initiatives as needed

Who You Are

  • You have proven experience in content creation and social media management — with a portfolio to back it up. If you don't have a portfolio, be prepared to pass a skills test. We'll know fast if you can do the work.
  • You're proficient with content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar) and comfortable with a camera in your hands
  • You understand social platforms deeply — not just how to post, but how to grow, engage, and convert
  • You write clean, compelling copy that sounds human — not like a marketing textbook
  • You're organized and self-directed. You don't need to be managed — you need to be pointed in a direction and trusted to deliver.
  • You're a creative problem solver who sees obstacles as puzzles, not roadblocks
  • Experience with scheduling tools (Metricool, Buffer, or similar)
  • Bonus: Experience with specialty coffee/food & beverage brands

This position may begin as a paid trial period (30–60 days) before converting to full-time, ensuring alignment on both sides.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
