Social Media Content Creator & Video Editor

Role Overview & Primary Focus

The Social Media Content Creator & Video Editor will be responsible for creating social media content for a specific client matched through Imperative Concierge Services. This is a project-specific placement. The overall purpose of this role is to transform an existing content strategy into polished, platform-ready assets (including edited video, mixed-media graphics, and a fully planned monthly content calendar) so that the client's brand shows up consistently and creatively without a generic, product-focused aesthetic.

This is a creative execution role. Strategy and direction are already established. We're looking for a skilled specialist who can build on that foundation to produce original, high-quality content that feels intentional rather than templated.

Potential Duties

Monthly Content Calendar Planning:

  • Build a complete 30-day content calendar based on the provided strategy, audience data, and optimal posting windows.
  • Review account analytics and audience behavior to recommend the best days and times to post.
  • Organize and submit the calendar in advance for client review and approval.

Video Editing & Asset Creation:

  • Edit short-form and long-form video content for different social platforms
  • Create mixed-media assets, including static graphics, carousels, and branded visuals aligned to the client's aesthetic.
  • Ensure all content is sized, formatted, and optimized for each platform's current specs.

Caption Development:

  • Draft lead lines and caption openers for each post. Final copy editing is handled internally.
  • Write in alignment with the client's brand voice; avoid generic or product-sales language.

Platform & Scheduling Support:

  • Deliver all assets and calendar details in an organized, submission-ready format.
  • Flag any platform changes or trends relevant to content performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience creating and editing social media content, with a portfolio demonstrating non-generic, brand-driven work.
  • Video Editing: Proficiency in at least one professional video editing tool (e.g., CapCut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) with demonstrated Reels-style editing experience.
  • Platform Knowledge: Working knowledge of Instagram content formats, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Content Planning: Proven ability to build and deliver a complete monthly content calendar independently and on deadline.
  • Service Business Experience: Familiarity with creating content for service-based businesses. We don't sell physical products, and content must reflect that.
  • Analytics Awareness: Ability to read basic account analytics and use data to inform posting schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing content for multiple clients or brands simultaneously.
  • Background in graphic design or brand identity (Canva Pro, Adobe Express, or similar).
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Planoly, Buffer).
  • Experience with Pinterest SEO and pin strategy beyond standard image posting.
  • Strong sense of visual storytelling and aesthetic curation. Your portfolio should show it.

Pay: $23.96 - $28.00 per hour
