Social Media Coordinator

Social Media Coordinator (Part-Time, Contract) | Austin, TX (Hybrid/Remote)

Position Summary

Colin’s Hope is a nonprofit based in Central Texas that provides water safety education to children and their families, schools, aquatic facilities, healthcare partners, and the community. We aim to instill life-long habits in children from an early age, teaching them to respect and love the water while being safer. We envision a world where children do not drown.

Colin’s Hope is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Social Media Coordinator to support the organization’s digital communications efforts. This part-time, contract position will play a key role in executing social media strategies that expand awareness, engage our community, and amplify our mission.

The ideal candidate is both a strong content creator and an organized project manager—someone who can translate mission-driven messaging into compelling digital storytelling while maintaining consistency across platforms.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Content Creation & Execution

● Develop and design engaging social media content using tools such as Canva and other creative platforms

● Write clear, compelling, and mission-aligned captions tailored to each platform

● Capture and edit short-form video and B-roll content to support storytelling and campaigns

● Ensure all content reflects Colin’s Hope’s voice, brand, and values

Platform Management

● Manage and maintain active accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Threads, and LinkedIn

● Schedule and publish posts using a content calendar and social media management tools

● Monitor and respond to direct messages and comments in a timely, professional manner

● Engage with followers and community partners to strengthen online presence

Content Planning & Coordination

● Maintain and update a comprehensive content calendar aligned with organizational priorities, campaigns, and events

● Collaborate regularly with staff to plan content that supports programs, fundraising, events, and awareness initiatives

● Attend team meetings to ensure alignment on messaging and priorities

Analytics & Reporting

● Track and analyze social media performance using platform analytics and reporting tools

● Provide regular reports on key metrics (engagement, reach, growth, etc.)

● Offer insights and recommendations to optimize future content and campaigns

Additional Responsibilities

● Support real-time content needs during events and campaigns, as needed

● Assist with other communications-related tasks as assigned

Key Qualifications

● 1–3 years of experience managing social media accounts for an organization, brand, or nonprofit

● Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and audience

● Experience with Canva or similar design tools; basic video editing skills preferred

● Familiarity with major social media platforms and best practices for each

● Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and stay organized

● Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small team

● Passion for mission-driven work; interest in public health, safety, or nonprofit communications is a plus

Position Details

Type: Contract position

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 5-15 hours per week

Location: Austin, TX preferred; hybrid or remote considered

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
