Social Media Intern
The Social Media Intern will support the National Inventors Hall of Fame® and Camp Invention® social media channels by assisting with organic content scheduling, monitoring and responding to public comments and DMs, project management and contributing to content ideation.
Duration: 10 Weeks (May – July), 20 hours per week.
Position Responsibilities:
- Schedule organic social media posts for the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Camp Invention utilizing Hootsuite
- Monitor and respond to public-facing social media comments
- Work with the Customer Relations Team to ensure proper response time to DMs
- Monitor Camp Invention Facebook, Instagram and X for user-generated content. Replying to posts and requesting permission to utilize the content, as needed.
- Work closely with the Creative Team to project manage assets for social media posts
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing Coordinator on content ideas
- Support photo/video shoots at local Camp Invention programs
- Ability to regularly work in the office and attend in-person meetings
- Ability to communicate effectively via email, chat, phone, and in-person meetings
- Requires regular, reliable, and on-time attendance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field (preferred)
- Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X for business use
- Experience with Hootsuite is a plus
- Strong time management, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professionalism when engaging with audiences. Customer service experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Self-motivated, creative and eager to learn and take on new challenges
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
- Energetic and passionate about social media
