We are seeking a strategic, experienced, and results-driven Social Media Manager to lead the evolution of our social media and content strategy. This individual will own the vision, planning, execution, and performance of social media initiatives across the organization, helping to strengthen brand awareness, drive customer engagement, support store traffic, and elevate Browns Shoe Fit as a leader in footwear retail.

Position Overview

The Social Media Manager will serve as the company's social media leader, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social strategy that supports both corporate marketing objectives and local store growth. This role will lead content planning, community engagement, influencer partnerships, paid social strategy, and performance measurement while collaborating across departments and supporting store-level marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with company growth objectives and brand positioning.
  • Establish annual, quarterly, and monthly social media goals and performance benchmarks.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and platform opportunities to keep Browns Shoe Fit at the forefront of digital engagement.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on social media best practices and platform evolution.
  • Collaborate with leadership and the marketing team to ensure social media supports broader business initiatives.

Content Strategy & Creation

  • Lead content planning and storytelling across Instagram, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Develop content themes and campaigns that connect national brand messaging with local community stories.
  • Create and oversee the production of high-quality photo, video, graphic, and written content.
  • Travel periodically to store locations to capture content, document events, and highlight customer and employee stories.
  • Ensure consistency in brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across all channels.

Community Building & Brand Advocacy

  • Build meaningful engagement with customers, store teams, brand partners, and local communities.
  • Develop strategies that encourage user-generated content, customer advocacy, and social sharing.
  • Manage community interactions across platforms.

Local Store Marketing Support

  • Partner with store managers to amplify local events, partnerships, and community involvement.
  • Create scalable social media resources and playbooks that empower stores to participate in local marketing efforts.
  • Identify and promote success stories that strengthen both local and company-wide brand awareness.

Influencer & Partnership Management

  • Develop and manage influencer, creator, and community ambassador programs.
  • Build relationships with local and regional influencers that align with the Browns Shoe Fit brand.
  • Evaluate partnership opportunities and measure campaign effectiveness.

Paid Social Strategy

  • Partner with internal and external teams to develop paid social strategies that support traffic, awareness, and sales objectives.
  • Guide audience targeting, creative direction, testing, and optimization efforts.
  • Ensure paid social initiatives align with overall marketing goals and budget expectations.

Analytics & Performance

  • Establish key performance indicators and reporting frameworks.
  • Must have knowledge in Meta Business Suite, analytics tools, and Google.
  • Analyze campaign performance, audience behavior, and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Deliver regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Use insights and data to continuously improve content and campaign effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive social media marketing experience, including ownership of strategy and execution.
  • Proven success growing social media audiences and engagement for a retail, consumer, lifestyle, or multi-location brand.
  • Strong understanding of content strategy, brand storytelling, and community building.
  • Experience creating and directing short-form video content and social-first creative.
  • Proficiency with Meta Business Suite, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and social management tools.
  • Experience interpreting analytics and translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically to stores, events, and community initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience managing social media for a multi-location retail organization.
  • Background in footwear, retail, apparel, sporting goods, fashion, or lifestyle brands.
  • Experience managing influencer marketing and creator partnerships.
  • Familiarity with paid social advertising platforms and campaign management.
  • Photography, videography, and creative production experience.
