Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and creative Social Media Manager to be Professional Volunteer for our nonprofit organization. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that enhance our brand presence and engage our audience. You will leverage your expertise in content creation, social media management, and digital marketing to drive our online initiatives and foster community relationships. This is an unpaid volunteer position with developmental opportunities. Fully remote, some travel required as needed. Degree encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create compelling content across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Utilize SEO techniques and keyword research to optimize content for search engines.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends and insights through social listening.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns, including Facebook Advertising, to drive traffic and conversions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with overall branding and public relations strategies.
  • Use tools such as Google Analytics to track performance metrics and analyze web analytics.
  • Design graphics using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Express) and Canva for posts and promotional materials.
  • Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Conduct proofreading of all content to ensure accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Capture high-quality photography and video content for use across social media platforms.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of all social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to create engaging content that aligns with branding goals.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles
  • Experience in video and photo editing is desirable but not mandatory.

Job Types: Part-time, Internship, Contract

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
