Social Media Marketing Internship

Location: La Palma, CA
Hours: 20–30 hrs/week (flexible)
Compensation: Paid, hourly (non-exempt). $16.50+ (DOE)
Duration: 3–6 months, potential for extension/full-time

At St. Nick’s Christmas Lighting & Décor, we bring holiday magic to life with large-scale, show-stopping displays for cities, hotels, casinos, shopping centers, and events across the country. From giant fiberglass ornaments to interactive walkthroughs, our work isn’t just décor—it’s an experience.

The Role

This internship focuses on PR, marketing, and brand strategy. You’ll shape the written voice of St. Nick’s, creating content that connects with clients, partners, and the public. From press releases to content calendars, you’ll turn on-site activity into polished communication pieces that build awareness and credibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the content calendar (YouTube Shorts, Instagram, LinkedIn) with the Creative Director
  • Write blog posts, and email blurbs in a professional, engaging tone
  • Capture quotes and details during installs and convert them into stories
  • Measure campaign performance (views, engagement, growth) and recommend improvements
  • Proof, fact-check, and ensure brand/voice consistency across all platforms
  • Film, edit, and produce engaging product videos and installation walkthroughs
  • Create short-form social media content (Reels, TikToks, Stories) from long-form footage
  • Assist in developing creative concepts for video campaigns
  • Ensure all content aligns with St. Nick’s brand voice and visual style
  • Collaborate with the creative team to plan video shoots and storyboards

Requirements

  • Current college student or recent graduate in Journalism, PR, Marketing, Communications, Film, Media, or related field
  • Strong writer/editor with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling copy
  • Comfortable conducting interviews and pulling soundbites from team members or clients
  • Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of filming techniques, lighting, and audio recording
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion for storytelling, creativity, and holiday décor
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and professional social media tone

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with motion graphics or animation
  • Experience creating content for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Interest in commercial holiday décor and immersive experiences
