We’re looking for a creative and organized Social Media Coordinator to bring our story to life online and grow our digital presence.

Role Overview

The Social Media Coordinator will manage BAAKO’s social media accounts (primarily Instagram, working on adding Facebook & Linkedin), create engaging content that highlights our services and community impact, and help shape our online voice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys blending creativity with strategy, and who can take initiative to build and maintain a consistent posting rhythm.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and post regularly to BAAKO Bus Company’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
• Create original content including posts, stories, short videos/reels, and simple graphics.
• Highlight upcoming trips, community events, behind-the-scenes moments, driver spotlights, and company milestones.
• Engage with followers by responding to comments, DMs, and tags.
• Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and make recommendations to improve.
• Collaborate with company leadership for approvals and branding direction.

Qualifications

• Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, small business, or organization.
• Comfortable creating content using tools like Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms.
• Organized, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Familiarity with Chicago communities and schools is a plus.
• Photography or basic video editing skills are a bonus.
