CNN Business Arabic , an IMI company, provides Arabic speakers around the world with global and regional economic, business, and finance news, facts, and analyses to help them understand the business angle of regional and global news stories.

Launched in 2023, the dedicated digital business platform is operated by IMI in partnership with CNN International Commercial (CNNIC). Leveraging the digital knowledge within the IMI group and combining this with the brand recognition and newsgathering capabilities of CNN, CNN Business Arabic aims to become the most comprehensive, coherent, trusted, timely, and creative global source of Arabic-language business and economic news.

Delivering breaking business news, insightful podcasts, and exclusive interviews with business leaders and influencers, the digital-first platform aims to inspire and empower current and future Arab business leaders and entrepreneurs in their daily quest for financial success, through engaging, visual, data-driven content.


Role Summary:


The Social Media Producers will play a pivotal role in enhancing the growth strategy across all social media networks and communities. They will be responsible for delivering multimedia news content that resonates with a broad Arabic-speaking audience, including key regional business and public affairs decision-makers.


Main Duties:


  • Drive digital readership by proposing innovative strategies to increase social media traffic to our website.
  • Collaborate closely with journalists, video producers, editors, and infographic designers to create compelling stories across various social media networks.
  • Lead and mentor the newsroom in social media storytelling techniques.
  • Develop guidelines for effective social media storytelling across platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Behance.
  • Monitor social media trends and discussions to generate story ideas and inform the newsroom of key updates from newsmakers.
  • Stay current with advancements in social media technologies and explore their potential applications.
  • Uphold CNN’s ethical and editorial standards, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and compliance with legal and cultural norms.
  • Respect the social, cultural, and moral values of the UAE, and guide the team to maintain the brand’s integrity and alignment with IMI’s strategic direction.
  • This role involves complex problem-solving, original research, and developing work methods aligned with high professional standards, with oversight from the supervisor.
  • Recognize the significant impact of your actions, recommendations, and decisions, and strive to mitigate any adverse effects on customers or relationships.


Role Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, design, economics, business administration, education, social sciences, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of digital media or related experience in reputable media or communication organizations.
  • Expertise in engaging with all major social media networks.
  • Proficiency in using publishing tools.
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies.
  • Excellent editorial skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the energy, commodities, and financial sectors, including their Arabic terminology.
  • Solid understanding of regional economics.
  • Basic understanding of multimedia and infographic production.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with flexible hours including early mornings and late evenings.
  • Capacity to multitask and collaborate with large teams across multiple locations.
