Social Media Specialist - Entry Level

Baby Bird Communications is looking for an entry level social media specialist, to join our San Diego based marketing agency, either part or full time. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and traffic, focusing on content creation, community management, and data analysis for our clients, primarily in the shopping center vertical.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Strategy & Planning:

Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with the shopping center's marketing goals with oversight and direction from the Social Media Team Leader.

  • Create and manage a social media content calendar, ensuring consistent posting and engaging content.
  • Research and identify relevant social media trends and best practices.

Content Creation & Management:

  • Generate engaging content (text, images, videos) that promotes the shopping center and its tenants.
  • Optimize content for different social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube).
  • Repurpose content across various platforms.
  • Monitor and moderate user-generated content.

Community Engagement & Customer Service:

  • Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media platforms.
  • Build relationships with followers and engage in conversations.
  • Provide timely and helpful responses to customer inquiries.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, website traffic).
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimize social media strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare reports on social media performance and share insights with stakeholders.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., marketing, sales, operations) to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
  • Work with tenants to promote their businesses and events on social media.

Other:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor brand mentions and reputation.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of social media marketing and management
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Familiarity with SEO and social listening techniques
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and graphic design
  • Experience with content creation and public relations
  • Knowledge of Facebook Advertising and Google Analytics
  • Basic skills in proofreading, branding, and digital marketing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
