Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to maintain product excellence across the software development lifecycle.

Quality assurance professionals play a critical role in monitoring every phase of development—from design to release—to ensure software meets defined standards and user expectations .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Perform manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure product quality
• Analyze test results, identify bugs, and report issues using tracking tools
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements
• Conduct functional, regression, performance, and usability testing
• Maintain documentation of test cases, defects, and quality metrics
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on quality standards
• Ensure software meets business, functional, and technical requirements before release
• Continuously improve QA processes, methodologies, and tools

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
• Experience with manual and automated testing tools
• Knowledge of test case design, defect tracking, and reporting
• Familiarity with APIs, web applications, and database testing
• Experience with tools like Selenium, JIRA, TestNG, or similar
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of functional and non-functional testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with test automation frameworks
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Java, Python, JavaScript)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
