About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Solar Engineer
to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, installing, and maintaining solar energy systems, with a strong background in the Qatar market. Knowledge of local regulations, building codes, and UPDA certification will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities

Design & Planning
-
Develop detailed engineering designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including rooftop and ground-mounted installations.

Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and shading analysis to optimize solar energy production.

Prepare technical drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, etc.).

Project Execution & Supervision

Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of solar energy systems in compliance with project specifications and local codes.

Supervise technicians and subcontractors on-site to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery of projects.

Prepare material submittals, method statements, and project execution plans.

Operations & Maintenance

Conduct regular inspection, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems.

Monitor system performance, analyze output data, and implement corrective actions to maximize efficiency.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.

Technical & Regulatory Compliance

Prepare technical documentation, reports, and compliance submissions for local authorities (KAHRAMAA, UPDA, etc.).

Stay updated on renewable energy policies, regulations, and best practices in Qatar.

Support in preparing tenders, proposals, and cost estimates for solar projects.

Team Collaboration & Client Engagement

Work closely with project managers, procurement, and client representatives to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Provide technical support during client meetings and presentations.

Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum
3–4 years of proven experience
in solar PV projects in Qatar.

UPDA certification (preferred)
– candidates with UPDA will be prioritized.

Strong knowledge of PV system design tools (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, etc.).

Familiarity with KAHRAMAA regulations, grid connection requirements, and local building codes.

Excellent project management and site supervision skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills

Experience in hybrid solar systems, battery storage, or off-grid solutions.

Knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC) related to solar PV systems.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project).
