Sourcing Engineer – Procurement

Job Summary

The Sourcing Engineer – Procurement is responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, components, and services required for cable manufacturing operations. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining required technical specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines to support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for cable manufacturing raw materials such as copper, aluminum, PVC, XLPE, steel tapes, armoring materials, and other cable components.
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs to suppliers and conduct technical and commercial evaluation of quotations.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure materials meet technical specifications and standards.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and procurement efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a strong approved vendor list (AVL) for cable raw materials and related services.
• Monitor market trends for key commodities such as copper, aluminum, and polymers to support cost control and sourcing strategy.
• Ensure procurement compliance with company policies, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
• Participate in supplier qualification, performance evaluation, and supplier development programs.
• Prepare procurement reports, cost comparison sheets, and sourcing analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
• 3–6 years of sourcing or procurement experience in cable manufacturing, electrical manufacturing, or industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of cable raw materials and components.
• Experience using ERP systems (SAP or similar) for procurement processes.
