Job Description: Sourcing Manager

Role Overview
The Sourcing Manager at Next2Skin will own end-to-end sourcing and vendor management across finished goods, raw materials, and packaging.
This is a business-critical role responsible for building a reliable, cost-efficient, and scalable supplier ecosystem to support rapid growth.
The role goes far beyond placing POs — it requires ownership, commercial judgment, and long-term vendor development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vendor Sourcing & Development
- Identify, onboard, develop, and manage suppliers for:
- Yarns / raw materials
- Finished goods manufacturing
- Packaging materials
- Build long-term vendor partnerships, not transactional relationships.
- Continuously benchmark suppliers on cost, quality, capacity, lead times, and reliability.
- Develop alternate and backup vendors for critical categories.
2. Costing & Commercials
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms.
- Drive year-on-year cost optimisation without compromising quality or supply reliability.
- Understand and actively work on key cost centres to improve gross margins.
- Work closely with the finance team to protect and improve margins.
- Maintain detailed cost sheets, rate cards, and supplier commercials.
3. Production Planning & Supply Coordination
- Work closely with planning and sales teams on:
- Demand forecasts
- Replenishment cycles
- New product launches
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished goods aligned with production plans.
- Proactively flag risks related to:
- Capacity constraints
- Delays
- Shortages
- Vendor dependencies
4. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all vendors meet Next2Skin’s quality standards.
- Coordinate sampling, pilot runs, and bulk production approvals.
- Actively work on reducing rejection rates and improving first-pass yield.
- Ensure basic compliance and ethical sourcing practices are followed by vendors.
5. Lead Time & Delivery Reliability
- Own supplier lead times end-to-end.
- Track PO timelines closely and ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve delays proactively and prevent repeat issues through root-cause analysis.
6. Systems & Process Improvement
- Create, maintain, and improve:
- Vendor master
- PO trackers
- Lead time and performance dashboards
- Bring structure, predictability, and accountability to sourcing operations.
- Support ERP or system adoption where applicable.

Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in sourcing / procurement
- Strong understanding of cost structures and cost reduction levers
- Experience in apparel / innerwear / hosiery / textile manufacturing preferred
- Exposure to import sourcing and import operations preferred
- Strong familiarity with Indian supplier ecosystems

- Not a pure purchase order processing role
- Not a vendor follow-up role
- Not a back-office position
