Job Title:
Industrial Construction and MRO Sourcing Specialist (3–5 Years Experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Sourcing Specialist with 3–5 years of experience in industrial construction and MRO materials sourcing. This role plays a key part in ensuring the right materials are identified, sourced, and delivered to support ongoing maintenance and construction projects. The ideal candidate is skilled at locating hard-to-find industrial components, building relationships with suppliers, and supporting the supply chain team to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Sourcing & Identification
- Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and construction teams to understand material specifications and requirements.
- Research, identify, and source accurate industrial materials (e.g., valves, fasteners, piping, electrical fittings, tools, PPE) based on technical drawings, part numbers, or performance specs.
- Locate alternate sources or equivalents for obsolete, long-lead, or difficult-to-source items.
- Support vendor inquiries and provide options for cost-effective, high-quality materials.
Procurement Coordination
- Request quotes from suppliers, evaluate lead times and pricing, and submit recommendations to senior sourcing staff.
- Create and process purchase orders in alignment with company policies and approval limits.
- Follow up on order status, shipping, and delivery schedules to ensure timely arrival of materials.
Supplier Interaction & Support
- Maintain strong communication with vendors to gather product availability, certifications, and warranty details.
- Help evaluate supplier performance in terms of responsiveness, delivery, and accuracy.
- Build and update a reliable network of industrial suppliers and distributors.
Project & Maintenance Support
- Support site teams during maintenance outages, shutdowns, and construction phases with rapid sourcing and delivery coordination.
- Track and communicate delivery timelines and resolve material-related issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, or material coordination for industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.
- Understanding of industrial parts, MRO categories, and construction materials.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong attention to detail when matching part specifications or sourcing replacements.
- Familiarity with reading part specs, datasheets, or BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Maximo, Coupa).
- Basic Excel skills and comfort with inventory tracking tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience sourcing capital projects, facilities maintenance, or plant turnarounds.
- Sourcing or supply chain management certifications a plus.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and time management skills required
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role with occasional visits to warehouses, job sites, or supplier locations.
- May support off-hours or weekend sourcing needs during outages or urgent work periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
