    Special Education Related Services Supervisor

    Position Summary:
    Provides direct support to the special education related service providers including speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, occupational therapists assistants, and physical therapists in the identification, evaluation, placement, services and management of students with disabilities requiring related services.

    Essential Duties:
    • Select, train, supervise and evaluate related service providers including speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, occupational therapists assistants, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.
    • Monitors daily operations and delivery of services for special education students receiving related services.
    • Ensures that all students are receiving related services per Individualized Education Program (IEP).
    • Facilitate use of data and data strategies.
    • Support audit/reporting responsibilities.
    • Defines, tracks, and monitors caseloads of related services personnel utilizing required objective measures.
    • Facilitates procedures to ensure adherence to district and state laws and regulations as well as legal and ethical standards and guidelines concerning the education and rights for students with disabilities and their families as applicable in the provision of related services.
    • Serves as a resource to staff members regarding related services and proper procedures for the identification, evaluation, placement, and services of students.
    • Assists in overseeing the Individual Service Plans for students enrolled in private schools.
    • Plans, facilitates, and evaluates the effectiveness of professional development for all related service providers, aligning with department goals.
    • Participates in professional growth activities and keeps abreast of development in the education field through participation in professional organizations, regular attendance at staff development workshops, professional conferences, and review of professional journals and other publications.
    • Schedules and facilitates related services monthly staff meetings.
    • Requisitions needed supplies and equipment for related services personnel that balances the staff professional needs with fiscally prudent decisions that align with department goals.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
    • Master’s or doctoral degree in speech pathology, occupational therapy, or physical therapy
    • Current Oklahoma Teaching Certification and Certificate in Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology or current Oklahoma state license in occupational therapy or physical therapy
    • Minimum 5 years of working in the public school systems as a related services professional
    • Demonstrated effective leadership experience
    • Knowledge of IDEA as well as state and district policies and procedures related to special education.
    • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative.



    *Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.

    Physical/Mental Requirements:
    • Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
    • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
    • Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
    • Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
    • May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.

    Work Environment:
    • Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled environment.
