Overview
A Special Educator in an IB school supports students with diverse learning needs by implementing individualized strategies that align with the IB’s inclusive education philosophy. They collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to create differentiated learning experiences, ensuring all students can access the curriculum and develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Through personalized intervention and support, they foster an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.
Responsibilities
Individualized Support & Intervention: Assess student needs, develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and implement tailored strategies to support diverse learners in accessing the IB curriculum.
Collaboration & Inclusive Learning: Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
Progress Monitoring & Advocacy: Track student progress, provide regular feedback, and advocate for necessary accommodations to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
