ADVANCED CONCEPTS
is an entity within EDGE dedicated to the design and deployment of advanced, innovative technologies. ADVANCED CONCEPTS is fast-tracking the development of high-technology autonomous systems, including three Medium Endurance, High Altitude, fixed-wing unmanned aerial systems, a family of precision loitering munitions, a cost- effective family of cruise missiles, and a range of guided artillery munitions.
Core Accountabilities:

Install, configure, and maintain server and OS to ensure optimal performance and reliability

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.

Manage and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity, backups, and recovery processes are in place.

Develop and execute backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to protect organizational data.

Regularly apply updates and patches to operating systems and applications to maintain security and performance

Manage changes to the IT environment in a structured manner to minimize disruption and ensure system integrity.

Respond to and resolve system incidents and outages quickly, minimizing impact on business operations.

Monitor system performance, implement optimizations, and ensure high availability of services.

Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference

Work closely with IT support staff and other departments to resolve issues and support organizational needs.

Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies and best practices within the organization.

Provide training and guidance to users on system functionalities and best practices.
-
Liaise with vendors for system purchases, upgrades, and support services.
-
Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, recommending enhancements to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years in IT infrastructure administration with a focus on servers and system management for a mid-sized organization
-
3 years in a system management role for a mid-sized organization
Knowledge / Qualification
-
Bachelor’s in computer Science, Information Technology or other related fields,
-
Certification in a relevant subject is preferable, e.g., Microsoft Certified Windows Server, CCNA, VCP.

Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253
-
Strong understanding of data classification
-
Understanding of IPSEC, SSL, PKI and other encryption-based technologies
-
Can clearly demonstrate least privilege access
Key Skills
-
Proficient with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for server deployment and management
-
Stronger knowledge of server and network infrastructure including Windows and Linux
-
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange Infrastructure.

Knowledge of networking protocols and configuration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
-
Stronger knowledge with backup and recovery solutions.

Strong understanding of data security zones
-
Understanding of data encryptors and data diodes
-
Strong understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) & Role Based Access Controls (RBAC)
