Key Responsibilities:

Coordinator will act as the Duty Security Officer of the Department during his shift. Will act as the liaison between the department and management and the non-management security staff and the customers, visitors in the institution. Will ensure safe and secure environments at campus during his shift through effective visitor control, emergency response, incident investigation, fire practices, mock drills, traffic control, campus patrolling, conflict resolution and as per the guidelines and expectation provided/communicated by the Manager Security etc. Will ensure deployment as per plan, coordinate and supervise all the security personnel of his shifts. He will assist Manager Security Operations in the training and administration of the personnel put under his supervision. He will monitor and report all important events to Manager Safety & Security and Administrator On Call during the tenure of his duty. Will carry out any other task given to ensure the core activities and mission of the department. Will be responsible to cover the incidents occurred during the shift for investigation. Will carry out liaison with police for MLO/other legal cases of patients. Will also coordinate and conduct VIP/VVIP visits to the Hospital during shift period. Will remain on call for any special task to be performed during off days/holidays.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Liaise with Manager for the daily security program and carryout routine checks as directed.
• Exercise effective Control/Supervision over his shift and correct deployment of force by taking regular rounds and spot checks.
• Ensures that response to security requirements outside of the daily program and emergencies/ incidents is in accordance with the laid down policies, procedures and protocols.
• Responsible for the implementation of SOPS/Policies & Procedures on daily basis through understanding of the same, providing training to security staff and spot checks.
• Assist in the development, review and updating of security program, policies and procedures as and when required.
• Supervise the smooth functioning of Security Control and maintenance of prescribed documents by physical inspection/ examination during his shift.
• Advice Administrator on Call on Safety & Security issues on as required basis.
• Investigate incidents, prepares preliminary investigation report with recommendations by inspecting scene of incident and examination of witnesses
• Will assist the Department Training Coordinator, Manager Security in the development/ updating of training modules for security and general hospital staffs based on TNA and Accreditation requirements. Also impart Training to security groups/staff under his command.
• Supervise Quality initiatives/ CQI projects of security groups under his command.
• Will ensure checking and signing of all Logbooks, Orders and deployment registers, weapon and ammunition physical state at security control, ER and all wards areas/other areas of the campus.
• Ensure visitor control and ushering out procedures during B & C shifts.
• Effective monitoring of SGs through supervisors, spot checks and through CCTV.
• Traffic and parking management throughout the campus.
• Laying traps for undesired persons involved in undesired activities.
• Implement loitering policy and ushering out procedures at night through patrolling/spot checks.
• Update and share duty security officer’s shift updates during respective shift with the departmental leadership.
• Solve Security problem of AKU and satellite location such as phlebotomy, IED, CMS and FAS.
• Act as Manager Security Operations in his absence.
• Take over the responsibilities of the disaster control officer in any emergency at AKU during the shift till the time the disaster control team takes over.
• Emergency Recall for duty.
• Conduct training session of other departments.
• Cover the departmental and other events being conducted in campus.
• Any other task assigned by the Manager / Director Safety & Security.

Requirements:

You should have:

• Graduate from HEC recognized University.
• Retired Armed Forces Officer equivalent to Major rank.
• Termination on disciplinary grounds/moral turpitude not acceptable.
• Withdrawal for Military Academy on any ground not acceptable.
• Should have excellent communication skills in English & Urdu (knowledge of local languages will be preferred).
• Computer skills.
• Investigative skills.
