As a Sr Advanced Mech Design Engr here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of these products and also will provide technical guidance and support to your team members
Key Responsibilities
- Experience on Value Engineering/Component Engg projects
- Trained or certified on INVEST methodology is an added advantage.
- Must have experience in Engineering change Request and Engineering change order implementation using Teamcenter PLM
- Candidate is expected to have good knowledge in mechanical design with the ability to use this knowledge on VE/CE ideation in mechanical packaging design for sensors and gas and flame detectors or similar product lines.
- Good global cross functional and possible project engineering skills to coordinate and work with Regulatory, Customer and Quality along with Marketing and other cross functions.
- Knowledge of NPI / Product Development Life Cycle, Agile is an advantage
- Handle product re-engineering projects enabling value to the product, understand Marketing requirements and work with project team on product specifications
- Product Design skills with Problem solving and analytical capability
- Experience on GD & T, Tolerance Analysis, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly)
- Good Knowledge in Drafting Standards especially ASME 14.5M, DIN, BSS
- Have good understanding on different manufacturing processes like plastic injection molding, metal parts machining, casting, sheet metal process, joining methodologies (crimping, welding, brazing, soldering) and sensor encapsulation methodologies and basic tool design exposure is essential.
- Good knowledge on Material selection (Engineering Plastics, Rubber & Metals) and mechanical hardware selection such as Screws, gaskets, O rings and other sealing elements
- Expertise in 3D Modeling and Parametric Detailing in Pro Engineer or any other CAD software
- Exposure to Six Sigma methodology and statistical analysis. Experience on GD&T, Statistical Tolerance Analysis, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly
- Develop innovative solutions and drive the design process from concept to production
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure designs meet customer requirements and industry standards
- Ensure compliance with Honeywells quality standards, Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency and effectiveness
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and development
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Experience with product testing and validation
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
