Senior Electrical Engineer – Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of electrical engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors on project sites.
• Manage project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure completion within approved schedules and budgets.
• Review, interpret, and approve electrical designs, technical drawings, load calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall construction activities.
• Oversee design modifications, technical submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (local and international).
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and professional development for junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices.
• Monitor quality control procedures and conduct inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to client specifications.
• Lead troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and problem resolution for electrical systems and equipment.
• Manage procurement processes, including reviewing material specifications, vendor evaluations, and maintaining inventory control of electrical supplies and equipment.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical reports, documentation, cost tracking, and billing records.
• Participate in risk assessments, value engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).
• Valid ADQCC Certificate is required.
• Equivalency certification is required (if applicable).
• Proven experience in senior-level electrical engineering roles within construction or industrial projects.
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
